The Serie A clubs choose Malagò as candidate for the FIGC presidency

Serie A Football League has decided what the candidate to be proposed at the next Football Federation elections: it will be Giovanni Malagòformer president of CONI and current number one of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation, the name that will be presented by May 13th (deadline for nominations) in view of the elections on June 22nd.

There are 18 clubs in favor of Malagò, two clubs against Lazio e Verona.

“The choice of 18 clubs fell on Giovanni Malago’, who from this moment has reached the requirement of article 6 paragraph 2 of the FIGC electoral regulations, which consists in having achieved the accreditation of the candidacy by at least half plus one of the assembly delegates, therefore eleven”, declares the president of the Lega Calcio Serie A, Ezio Simonelli, confirming the candidacy of Giovanni Malago’, former number 1 of the CONI, as next president of the FIGC.
