With the possibility of a picnic: recommended coffee carts that are open on Independence Day

On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day of the State of Israel, we found 10 coffee carts that have the whole festive package: they are located in the heart of green or desert natural spaces, they can be combined with a picnic and some of them also have the option of lighting a nearby barbecue.

One of the projects in the association established in his memory, “Polar Bear in the Desert”, is the establishment of a coffee and rest area for hikers on the Israel Trail, near Kibbutz Yagor. Recently, the “Cafe Asif” cart was opened there, which offers a menu of juices, coffee, sandwiches and more. Everyone volunteers in the operation of the cart and all revenues from the cart will be transferred to the association, to continue supporting other exciting projects.

Ein Mode, Valley of the Springs

The idea for this cart was born from the operation of an ice cream truck, so on the menu you can also find ice creams that you can take and sit by the spring and enjoy a chilled ice cream on a hot and hot day.

The Valley of the Springs, is one of the places especially worthy of heat and summer, because there is nothing like bathing or dipping in the many water sources in the area. Come with a bathing suit, shallow sandals, a hat and water and you can enjoy a variety of springs and short hiking trails. In the heat, no one wants to walk for hours in the heat.

A short distance away, you can also get to HaSlosha Garden (Hasachana) a national park of RTG, Nahal Hasi, other springs, keep in mind that on hot days and in the summer it can be crowded, arrive early.

Forest of the Guards, Tivon

For those who choose to walk or have a picnic in the area of ​​Bethlehem the Galilee, Tivon, Ramat Yishai, here is a great place for coffee and something light. In Tivon, at a beautiful and pastoral vantage point overlooking the Jezreel Valley, “Coffee on the edge” was established. Close to the cart there are green spaces where you can have a picnic, there is a nearby playground and hammocks.

Not far from the cart, you can take a walk at the Alroy Spring, the Aloni Abba Reserve, Beit Shaarim National Park and the statue of Alexander Zeid. In the Elroi spring area and the locomotive park there are many picnic areas, tables and benches for the comfort of travelers.

In Moshav Maor, which is in the Menashe Regional Council, the Sharka coffee cart is located. A few minutes from the entrance to the seat, you will reach a shady grove next to Nahal Habiva (Maor) and there you will find fun sitting areas, a pleasant and family atmosphere and of course good coffee and food.

The place is also perfect for a picnic or games with children, you can also continue a few minutes away to Nahal Habiva Park, which has shady corners and stone seating areas, or continue to the beach and combine bathing and a picnic at the same time. The beaches closest to you: Hadera, Beit Yanai, Caesarea and Makmorut.

Emek Hefer, Beit Rishonim

Emek Hafer is a good place in the center, suitable for picnics in Nahal Alexander, for example, and close to the beaches in the sea. The coffee cart sits in a special location, in Beit Rishonim, covered, with a view of the valley and the orchards, a good, happy and inviting atmosphere. Sometimes there are exhibitions in the first house next door and then you have earned both.

The cart is located near the Beitan Aharon Nature Reserve, you can go on an easy trail or picnic, for those interested in a barbecue, check out authorized areas in Nahal Alexander, Nahal Tzavim Park and more.

A farm between Hazor and Gan Yavne

The coffee cart is located in a pastoral complex between Gan Yavne and Kibbutz Hatzor, in a place that used to be a horse farm. There are many lawns and green spaces in the area that are suitable for a picnic with the whole family. The cart’s menu is light and includes pastries, elaborate sandwiches, pizzas and special desserts on weekends.

There are options in the area for trips, for spending time at the beach (Ashdod Yam Park), bicycle routes and you can spend a few hours on trips, picnics and treats from the coffee cart.

The coffee cart “Bi’er” is located at the entrance to the Rosh Ha’Ein forest, there is a dirt parking lot at the entrance, but on weekends and holidays it is likely to be very busy and then it is recommended to park in Rosh Ha’Ein and walk a bit. The cart enjoys the spaces of the Rosh Ha’Ein forest, so you can walk among the paths, have a picnic around the forest, there are areas designated for picnics and KKL-Junk tables.

You can enjoy drinks and food in the cart and take it with you on the road, or sit in one of the sweet corners adjacent to the cart and the Raba stream (flows only in winter after heavy rains).

If you want to add another hike, you can also go to Migdal Tzedek National Park (a 5-minute drive), Mekorot Yarakon National Park (an 11-minute drive), or Horesh Forest (a 12-minute drive).

The idea to open a coffee cart in Kfar Neter was born out of the need of the local residents. For Opie, Eyal and Dror, who founded Cafe Liberal, there was a cafe of the same name in a coastal town in Costa Rica, and also in the local version, it was important for them to maintain an atmosphere of freedom, connection to the sea and surfing, music and good food.

The coffee is in a sweet grove within the rural settlement and among green spaces. You can combine a trip or a picnic in Ilanot Forest, which is about 13 minutes’ drive away, Yakum Park and the Sharon Reserve – each of them about 15 minutes’ drive from the trolley.

The cart has a variety of drinks, natural shakes, salads, bagel toast, on Friday special sweet and savory pastries and other treats.

Park Einav Modi’in

Einav Park is a large and beautiful park in Modiin, so the cart is located right in the middle of nature, in a small grove with many trees and shade. The place is perfect for a picnic and as a starting or ending point for trips in the area. Another advantage is that there is ample parking, a playground next to the stroller and the place is shaded so that it is also suitable for hot days.

Here you will find quality coffee, fine food and a good atmosphere. If you feel like continuing to walk or ride a bike, you can continue to Mitzpe Natan, about a 16-minute drive away, Ben Shemen Forest, about a 17-minute drive, or Givat Hatitura, about a 10-minute drive away.

Mitzpe Shelem, Dead Sea

The coffee cart is called Capcito because of the visits of Udi and Moore, the owners of the cart, to Colombia. During their visits to the country, they participated in tours following the local coffee and decided to fulfill a dream in the Dead Sea.

You will be able to enjoy a gorgeous view, fine quality ingredients of the food, coffee and desserts. Of course, you can continue to travel in the Dead Sea, or on one of the itineraries in the area. If it’s a hot day, it’s recommended to start walking early and at most finish at the coffee cart.
