Ecovacs Deebot T90 Pro Omni: a robot vacuum cleaner that improves with running-in, but does not exceed expectations

As we saw in the February presentation, the device did not finish closing the space before the obstacle or the walla problem that has been repeated when trying it at home.

AI FEATURES

In addition to the assistant himself, the mobile application allows you to manage the robot in greater detail. In it you can see the map of the home, rename the rooms, and adjust the cleaning parameters, choosing between vacuuming, scrubbing or both; the power of the suction; the water flow rate; the speed of cleaning and the number of passes.

However, the most notable feature is the mode of AI powered cleaning, in which the device itself is the one that adjusts the parameters to carry out cleaning. For example, when testing it in the kitchen and hallway, a real-time monitoring of the cleaning appears detailing the chosen parameters and why.

Thus, he explains that: “The surface is ‘ceramic’, for which it is recommended to reduce the amount of water during cleaning to avoid potential damage or water accumulation. The system has proposed to use cleaning parameters with standard suction and an extremely low amount of water, maintaining the ‘sweep and drag’ mode only once, which is sufficient given the recent cleaning history.”

As for the results, there were some more difficult stains, specifically from some red fruits that had fallen to the ground. After a couple of passes, the Deebot T90 Pro Omni was not able to remove it.

Seeing that smart scrubbing had not worked, we tried manual scrubbing to remove a chocolate stain that was on the floor. To do this, a medium amount of water and the option of several passes were configured to ensure a deeper cleaning.

After a first pass, the robot removed a good part of the stain, and after the final cleaning, the dirt had almost completely disappeared, but with a few really acceptable results. This way, if smart cleaning is not enough, the user has manual cleaning as an alternative.

FROM LESS TO MORE, BUT IT DOES NOT REPLACE MANUAL CLEANING

The first cleanings with the vacuum cleaner did not give the expected results, but as more have been done and the device has gotten more run-in, The experience has improved significantly..
