In the accounts of Kalilou, imam at 2,200 euros per month: “Many are volunteers or have another job”

When he leaves high school, Kalilou is certain, he wants to become a “headmaster”. His plan is already well defined: “do a degree in AES (Economic and Social Administration), a master’s degree, become a CPE or SES teacher, then after 5 years of seniority, take the competitive examination to be a principal”.

Now 30 years old, Kalilou has taken a completely different path, far from school, but his desire to pass on remains intact. Imam in one of the largest mosques in France, in Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin), his life is punctuated by five daily prayers, Islam lessons, but also cinema and reading.
