Alpine skiing – Vonn wants to ski again

US star Lindsey Vonn definitely wants to ski again after another operation in the fall. “Whether on the track or not, I will definitely do it again,” the 41-year-old told People magazine. The American still leaves it open whether she will return to the World Cup. “Maybe I’ll find a fast car and a racetrack somewhere,” Vonn joked. In any case, she still has a passion for speed. Vonn had a serious fall at the Winter Olympics in Italy in February. She suffered a serious knee and lower leg injury in her fateful accident on the Cortina d’Ampezzo descent. Since then, the 2010 Olympic champion and former speed dominator has had five surgeries. The 84-time World Cup winner is still considering another comeback, as she recently stated.

The past two months have been tough, Vonn said. But she also feels like she has made great progress. Before she undergoes a sixth operation, she wants to spend a long summer vacation, live more normally again and do nice things. “I am someone who plans for success, so I plan for a full recovery,” Vonn said. She announced that she would be diving on vacation. A friend also wanted to teach her how to kitesurf. “Skiing isn’t the only thing I do,” Vonn said. The American, who had already been plagued by many injuries during her career, returned to the Alpine World Cup in 2024. At the Winter Games in February she was considered a gold candidate – and experienced a fiasco with her violent fall.
