The State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sports has proposed a 30,000 euro fine for Real Betis Balompié for “disregarding the instructions of the National Police and allowing the display of two unauthorized banners” in their derby against Sevilla FC played on March 1.
“The banners showed messages against the president of Sevilla FC and the ultra group Biris Norte and had been expressly prohibited by the security coordinator on the day of the match. Furthermore, they had not been communicated or authorized by the Local Security Board developed in the Government Subdelegation,” the Ministry of the Interior itself added this Wednesday in its official statement.
In this sense, the Anti-Violence Commission has proposed its sanction for “a serious infraction” provided for in article 21.2 of Law 19/2007 and has also detailed “the appearance of two canisters of smoke in the lower stands of the Gol Sur, whose control is the responsibility of the organizer of the event”, as well as “the improper occupation of the evacuation routes in the same part of that sector”, according to the same press release.
“These incidents also occur within the framework of a broad security device to avoid episodes of violence in the Sevillian derby, declared high risk,” Antiviolencia recalled in its text.
“On the night of February 27, agents of the National Police prevented a potential confrontation between radicals from both clubs in the area of La Cartuja. The police deployment managed to stop a group of 30 ultra followers when they were walking with black clothing and blunt objects in the Glorieta Olímpica, towards the stadium,” the note indicated.
Therefore, Anti-Violence has also proposed fines of 1,500 euros and a ban on access to stadiums for three months for five of those young people, related to the Biris Norte group.
SANCTIONS TO REAL SOCIEDAD AND RAYO VALLECANO
On the other hand, the Commission has proposed a sanction of 5,000 euros for Real Sociedad for “the activation of a red flare in the lower South Stand of the stadium” during their Copa del Rey Mapfre semi-final match against Athletic Club, played on March 4 in Anoeta.
Likewise, the Commission has decreed a fine of 1,500 euros and a ban on access to sports venues for a period of three months for a person who insulted the president of Rayo Vallecano, Raúl Martín Presa, during a match that the franjirrojo team played against RCD Mallorca on April 12 in Son Moix on matchday 31 of LaLiga EA Sports.
“Martín Presa requested the intervention of the agents when he was scolded by a fan as he was leaving the locker room. The fan had accessed a VIP area and later the tunnel where he ran into the president,” concluded the Anti-Violence note on that episode.
