Final green light from the EU to borrow from 90 billion to Ukraine and new sanctions against Russia. “The Council has approved the last element needed to enable the disbursement of the €90 billion loan for Ukraine. The Cypriot Presidency has worked tirelessly to ensure that all elements necessary for the loan are in place,” said Makis Keravnos, Cypriot Finance Minister. “Disbursements will start flowing as soon as possible, providing vital support for Ukraine’s most urgent budgetary needs. The EU remains firm in its support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity“.
