Banned in the United Kingdom for anti-Semitism, rapper Kanye West will be able to perform in the Czech Republic in July

Despite his anti-Semitic outings, he will perform well on stage in Prague. American rapper Kanye West will give a concert in the Czech Republic this summer, the director of the Prague-Velka Chuchle racecourse, which will host the event, announced on Thursday.

The 48-year-old singer, once celebrated for his original musical writing and successful productions, is due to perform on July 25 in the Czech capital, Zuzana Rambová told AFP, without giving further details.

Numerous racist and anti-Semitic remarks

According to local media, the concert is organized by the company HUGO Production, which is owned by a 20-year-old Slovakian, Hugo Varga, according to the Czech company register.

The American rapper, also known as Ye, who is preparing a tour in Europe in June and July, has lost many fans and several commercial contracts in recent years after anti-Semitic and racist comments.

He notably stated in 2023 that he “loved the Nazis”, put a t-shirt decorated with a swastika on sale on his website and released a title in May 2025 called “Heil Hitler”, banned by the main streaming platforms.

Concert postponed in Marseille

At the beginning of April, the artist with 24 Grammys was banned from entering the United Kingdom for concerts scheduled for July while the Netherlands indicated that it was not planning a ban for his concerts scheduled for early June.

In France, Kanye West himself announced last week the postponement of his concert scheduled for June 11 in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), facing opposition from the city authorities and the government who denounced anti-Semitic remarks on his part.

The rapper was due to perform last year at a festival in Bratislava, in neighboring Slovakia, but the organizers ultimately decided to cancel the event. A few weeks earlier, Kanye West had released a song in praise of Hitler on May 8, 2025, the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

Thousands of people had signed a petition against this concert, an “insult to the memory of the victims and a glorification of violence”, according to the text.
