Rescue operation of hours: a 300-kilogram tourist got stuck in a toilet in Vietnam

In a complex rescue operation that lasted almost three hours, emergency teams in the city of Da Nang in central Vietnam rescued a 65-year-old American tourist weighing about 300 kilograms, who was trapped inside a bathroom and could not get up after falling.

The incident took place in the No Han Son neighborhood, when at 08:33 in the morning a message was received about a man who fell while using the toilet and was unable to get up on his own.

Fighters of fire and rescue unit number 3 along with local police and medical teams were rushed to the scene. The cramped conditions in the bathroom, together with the weight and limited movement, made the rescue operation particularly complex and raised the fear of further injury during the evacuation.

The rescue forces used dedicated equipment and built an orderly plan of action before entering into the actual rescue. At around 11:10 am, after a prolonged effort, he was successfully extracted from the room and transferred to a medical examination.

According to the reports, this is a man about 1.8 meters tall and weighing close to 300 kilograms.
