18-year-old Angelina Khan Hicks planned a terrorist attack on a Houston synagogue to “kill as many Jews as possible.”

18-year-old Angelina Khan Hicks was arrested in North Carolina and charged with planning a car attack against the Jewish community in Houston. According to the arrest warrant, Hicks planned to drive the car into the synagogue with the goal of “killing as many Jews as possible.”

On Wednesday, April 22, Beth Israel Synagogue and Shlenker Jewish Day School were closed after receiving threats. Assistant District Attorney Alan Martin told the Associated Press news agency there were specific warnings that a terrorist attack was being prepared against the synagogue.

On Tuesday, the FBI’s anti-terrorism team began an investigation after receiving a tip about an impending terrorist attack; the investigation was conducted at the federal level because the suspect currently lives in another state.

While Hicks’ motive for choosing the synagogue, located approximately 1,000 miles from her home in North Carolina, has not yet been determined, it has been reported that Angelina Hahn Hicks was charged in Harris County, Texas, when she was a minor.

Fox News indicates that the investigation into this case is ongoing: allegedly, Hicks was planning a terrorist attack along with two male suspects, identified by the names “Tegan and Angel”, they have not yet been found.

Hicks is scheduled to appear in Davidson County District Court on May 13. Bail is set at $10 million.
