Handball – Renars Uscins moves to Paris

There have been some rumors about national handball player Renars Uscins, where he will move in the summer of 2027 when his contract with TSV Hannover-Burgdorf expires. One of the addresses mentioned was the Bundesliga competitor SG Flensburg-Handewitt, but now the national player has decided to go abroad. As the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung reports that the left-hander has signed with the French world club Paris Saint-Germain. This leaked out on the sidelines of Hannover’s Bundesliga game against TBV Lemgo (30:30) on Sunday evening.

The left-hander was in great demand and, according to reports, actually agreed with Flensburg. But because the name of the Portuguese Kiko Costa from Sporting Lisbon was mentioned more and more openly in connection with the North Germans, most recently even by SG sports director Lubomir Vranjes, the 23-year-old withdrew.

Now Uscins and Paris have agreed and signed the working papers. In 2027, the Olympic silver hero from 2024 and European Championship runner-up in 2026 will go to the French capital – and will be able to play regularly in the Champions League with the series champions. The sporting step forward was also the declared goal of the 23-year-old national player (55 international matches).

So the warriors’ faint hope that Uscins might stay in Hanover after all has been dashed. But the financial superiority of the major Paris club was too great. At the beginning of 2022, Uscins moved from SC Magdeburg to Hannover as a young talent with a lot of potential, where he quickly developed into a top performer and national player – and played one more season before taking the next step in his young career.
