Evo Morales | Bolivian Prosecutor’s Office gathers 170 evidence against Evo Morales in accusation of aggravated human trafficking

The prosecutors who investigated the former president of Bolivia Evo Morales (2006-2019) for the crime of aggravated human trafficking, due to his alleged relationship with a minor when he was ruler have gathered more than 170 evidence against them for an oral trial, an official source reported.

During the process, the young woman, who is now of legal age, has spoken with some local media to indicate that she is living in Argentina with the girl.

The formal accusation against the former president was presented last October and is pending for Justice to set the date for the start of the trial in this case.

The former president denounced on several occasions that the process against him sought to prevent his candidacy in the November 2025 elections, in which he intended to run for the first time after resigning from the ruling party Movement for Socialism (MAS), of which he was founder and leader for almost thirty years.

In the recent regional elections, on March 22, Morales’ followers used different acronyms to seek positions in governorships and municipalities, and only in Cochabamba did they win the Governorship, the only important position won by former senator Leonardo Loza, loyal to the former ruler.
