Trump raises tariffs on cars imported from the EU to 25 percent

Announcing that he will make that change next week, Trump did not specify at the same time which terms of the agreement the European Union is violating.

In a document signed with the United States last year, the European Union agreed to eliminate tariffs on goods imported from the US, instead the US imposed a 15 percent tariff on most EU imports.

“Based on the fact that the European Union is not honoring our fully agreed Trade Deal, next week I will raise tariffs on cars and trucks from the European Union entering the United States.” Customs duties will be increased to 25 percent,” the US president wrote on his Truth Social social network.
