Victory for Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner: this is what was decided in court

The high-profile legal battle surrounding the world’s most famous sex tape is taking a significant turn. According to a TMZ website report, Kim Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner registered a legal victory last Friday in the fight against the legendary ex, Ray J. A judge ruled that the counterclaim filed by Jay against the two will not be determined in a court open to the public, but will go to private arbitration away from the eyes of the cameras.

The conflict in question reignited when Ray J filed a counterclaim in which he claimed that Kim and Kris violated their settlement agreement by continuing to talk about the sex tape on their hit reality show, “The Kardashians.” However, the judge accepted the argument of the family members, who proved that the parties had previously signed a contract requiring them to resolve disputes related to that agreement only through arbitration. Alex Spiro, the lawyer representing Kim and Kris, told TMZ in an official response: “We expected the court to rule in our favor and we are satisfied with the decision.”

However, The judge’s decision sends only Ray J’s counterclaim to arbitration. The original defamation lawsuit, which Kris and Kim filed against him last October, will continue to proceed in court under the watchful eye of the public.

The original procedure, which is open to the public, includes shocking accusations from both sides. Kim and Kris sued Ray J for defamation after it claimed the two were being investigated for blackmail. Jay even went a step further and claimed that they committed crimes “more serious than those attributed according to Didi”. Kris, who did not remain oblivious, recently submitted an affidavit in which she called his words “outrageous and untrue allegations,” and described how Jay made Kim’s life “hell for two decades.”

On the other hand, Ray J refuses to back down and is waging a stubborn war that he says is aimed at clearing his name for the sake of his children’s future. He accused Kim and Kris of “absolutely lying about everything under oath” regarding the release of the original tape. According to him, Kris not only knew about the tape, but managed the event and even demanded that they shoot a second tape, when she specifically instructs them to make it “dirtier”.

Jay previously spoke out in the media about the testimonies of Kim and Kris: “Are they fucking out of their minds? The fact is that if you lie like that under oath, you don’t go to jail for it? You don’t get a fine?”. Now, some of these difficult questions will be clarified behind closed doors, while the libel battle itself will continue to provide us with headlines for a long time to come.
