Meloni was welcomed by the boys in aprons upon her arrival, greeted Marco on his first day at work, visited the restaurant with Acampora, and tasted the pizza.

“Your presence here on May 1st is truly a crazy signal, I think, because having the Prime Minister on Labor Day in a place where all the workers are those workers who would have been excluded from the world of work is an extraordinary message, of immense value,” said Acampora, addressing the prime minister.

“The most powerful message is yours, the one you are giving, with this thing that no one believed in but you believed and which today everyone must believe because it is a fact – Meloni replied -: I did nothing other than come to greet, on Labor Day, themore extraordinary workersof everyone”. Meloni then put the now famousred apron by PizzAut(which Acampora also managed to get Pope Francis to wear during a visit to the Vatican), with the words ‘Let’s nourish inclusion. It is forbidden to trample on dreams. And he celebrated the signing of the promotion contract with one of the boys, Lorenzo, hired on May 1st three years ago. And the official tricolor of the Prime Ministership was given to Acampora.

“Today I decided to pass theMay 1st con dei extraordinary workers. I was thrilled to get to know that one up closeunique reality in the world che è PizzAut“, wrote Meloni on social media, where he published a video of the visit. “A project made up ofreal worktalent, commitment, humanity e dignity. A place where manykids on the autism spectrumnot just an opportunity is offered, but a concrete path ofautonomyresponsibility e future. PizzAut”, he added, “is one of those experiences that make you see first-hand how much value can arise when vision, courage and heart come together. Meloni’s message for Labor Day

In the morning, Meloni had celebrated theworkers’ daywith a message posted on his official accounts. “TheMay 1stit is the celebration of those who every day, withI commitsacrifice e dignitykeep Italy going. And it is also the day in which politics must measure itself with facts – he underlined -. Since we have been in government we have chosen to do it this way: intervening every year withconcrete measuresto improve the condition ofItalian workers. We did it with thecutting the tax wedgewith theemployment incentiveswith interventions onsafety at work. And we continue to do so by strengthening thequality of workla protection of the lowest wagesand the contrast to every form ofexploitationincluding thedigital gangmaster“.

Results and new measures for work

“In recent years iresultshave arrived: Italy has further1 million and 200 thousand more employed550 thousand fewer temporary workersand reached the highest level offemale employmentof its history – he claimed -. These are numbers that don’t solve everything, but they tell a storyclear direction e un real change of pace. Con il work decreeapproved in the Council of Ministers we have added another important piece: affirming the principle offair salary. It means a very simple thing: lepublic resourcesthey must go to those who respect workers, not to those who underpay, exploit or usepirate contracts. For us thefair salaryit is not defended with slogans or shortcuts, but by enhancing thequality contractingand hitting those who compete on people’s skin.”

The government’s future vision for work

“We know well that there is still a lot to do – he then acknowledged -. Because theWorkit must always be morestableSafewell paidand capable of givingfutureespecially toyoungalle donneand to those who live inmost fragile areas of the nation. But we also know that the path taken is the right one. For us theWorkit is not defended with propaganda, but withconcrete measuresreal rights e respectfor those who keep this nation going every day.”
