Israel’s largest medical marijuana farm sold due to criminal ties

One of Israel’s largest producers and exporters of medical marijuana, May Green Fields, based in Moshav Megdim in the Hof HaCarmel neighborhood, is selling its business due to the revocation of its license.

The company’s license to grow medical marijuana was revoked by the Ministry of Health on the recommendation of Israeli police, who identified alleged links to criminal organizations.

As Kalkalist reports, the buyer of the land plot with the largest production complex in Israel was Israeli businessman Leonid Blitshtein, who works in the field of grain and agriculture in Europe.

According to the publication, he is currently working to obtain the necessary permits from the Ministry of Health in order to maintain the company’s activities under the new name “Navara” and with new management.

The amount of the transaction, under which Blitshtein received the largest cannabis farm in the country with an area of 42 thousand sq.m. with equipment and stock of seedlings, is estimated at 60-70 million dollars with a real market value of 100 million dollars.

The publication notes that Blitshtein previously planned to open a medical cannabis farm in Ukraine, but this plan fell through due to the war.
