Macron reaffirms France’s support to Armenia

In a message from the Armenian President’s office, Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed France’s commitment to continue support to Armenia and deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of defense, infrastructure development, artificial intelligence, high technologies and communication, considering them as key areas of long-term partnership.

“I am very happy to be in Armenia today on a state visit, we will also have meetings tomorrow, which, I think, will open a new page in the history of relations between France and Armenia,” Macron said.

Vahagn Khachaturyan also noted. “After 1991, Armenia appeared in the center of France’s attention and we passed this way with the support and help of France as well. Of course, it has its historical roots, we are the bearers of the same cultural values, we were together in circles fighting for Christian values. I am sure that your visit will be a new impetus for the development of our relations.”

Referring to regional developments, Vahagn Khachaturyan reaffirmed Armenia’s consistent position aimed at promoting the peace agenda, as well as building relations with all states without preconditions, based on the principles of mutual respect, sovereignty and neighborliness.

At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their willingness to continue high-level political dialogue and effective cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of both countries and the strengthening of regional peace and stability.
