Eurovision 2026: 12 points for Israel, 7 for Bulgaria… How France voted in the competition

The French public did not seem to be in phase with the boos from the audience in the room. French viewers awarded, as in 2024 and 2025, their 12 points to Israel during the Eurovision 2026 final which took place this Saturday, May 16 in Vienna (Austria).

Franco-Israeli, Noam Bettan received favor from the French public thanks to his title “Michelle”, and his voice which is reminiscent of Slimane. The 28-year-old ultimately finished second in the competition with 343 points. In the lead until Bulgaria’s points were revealed, he was heavily booed by the audience at the Wiener Stadthalle at the end of his performance but also while he was in pole position to win.

French voters, among the 3.99 million viewers who followed the evening on France 2, also voted like the others the song “Bangaranga” by the Bulgarian Dara, crowned with 516 points, including 312 from the public. French representative Monroe finished 11th with 158 points.

The French jurors favored Norway

As for the professional jury, we now know that it was made up of the communicator Benjamin Kern, the vocal coach Clément Julia, the journalist Thomas Isle, the producer Delphine Malem, the singer Myla Rosenfeld, the press officers François Troller and Valérie Zipper. Each member ranked the 24 performances (Monroe was obviously automatically excluded) in the order of his choice. The average of the results brought Norway in the lead which obtained our 12 points thanks to “Ya Ya Ya” by Jonas Lovv.

Followed by Denmark (10 points), Italy (8 points), Bulgaria (7 points), Ukraine (6 points), Australia (5 points), Israel (4 points), Malta (3 points), Finland (2 points) and Serbia (1 point).

Monroe struggles with foreign audiences

Despite a France Télévisions strategy reoriented towards the international this year, we cannot say that the young Franco-American singer has won the hearts of viewers. If Monroe shone with the national professional juries by finishing 4th with 144 points thanks to an impeccable vocal performance, she unfortunately only collected 14 small points from the public.

In detail, the former winner of “Prodigies” received 2 points from Armenia, Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Luxembourg and Portugal, and only one point from Australia and Norway. The teenager may have some regrets, because six countries placed her 11th in the televoting and six others 12th, an honorable ranking, but which does not offer any points in the competition.
