Félix Viscarret will direct ‘Blanco’, a film about the kidnapping and murder of Miguel Ángel Blanco

The director Felix Viscarret will shoot in September ‘Blanco’, a film inspired by kidnapping and murder of Miguel Ángel Blanco at the hands of the terrorist group ETA. According to its production company, Nobody is Perfect, the premiere is scheduled for 2027, coinciding with the thirtieth anniversary of the death of the Popular Party councilor in the Ermua City Council.

In this sense, the company highlights that Viscarret is known internationally for his work in the series ‘Patria’ (HBO, 2020), considered one of the most relevant fictions about ETA terrorism made in Spain in recent years. In addition, the film has the support of Miguel Ángel Blanco’s family, represented by his sister Marimar Blanco.

“Blanco will address not only the political and social impact of those events, but also the human dimension of a tragedy that mobilized millions of citizens and turned Miguel Ángel Blanco into a symbol of unity and resistance against terrorism”, the producer has stated.

The project has been promoted by producer Kiko Martínez with the collaboration of journalists such as Jon Sistiaga and Jimmy Guerra, among other communication professionals, with the aim of building a story based on the experience of those who covered one of the most high-profile episodes in the recent history of Spain.
