Iltalehti and Uusi Suomi merge

Iltalehten and online media Uuin Suomen’s editorial offices will merge this fall, Alma Media says in his announcement.

According to the release, the contents of New Finland’s politics and foreign countries, as well as Puheenvuoro blogs, will be transferred to Iltalehti. In the future, they would appear on Iltalehti’s website as a separate section.

According to Alma’s press release, Uusi Suomi currently reaches 400,000 readers online. Editor-in-chief of New Finland Jenni Tamminen sees that the merger will expand the reach of Puheenvuoro blogs. The blog service will continue unchanged even after the change.

Anyone can start a blog in Uuunee Suomee with their own name and image.

Evening newspaper and Uusi Suomi both belong to the Alma group.

Iltalehti’s editor-in-chief Perttu Kauppinen says in the announcement that the merger of the two editorial offices “strengthens the offer of political and social journalism to the readers of Iltalehti”.

In practice, the change will affect the subscribers of Uusi Suomen so that the existing subscriptions will be changed to Iltalehti Plus Extra subscriptions at the time of the merger. Subscribers will be contacted separately.
