Road haulage, stoppage of trucks suspended

During the meeting between the acronyms united in the coordination Backwards and the government, in the presence of the prime minister Giorgia Melonian agreement was reached with the commitment to include some measures considered priorities for the sector in the fuel decree expected in CDM this evening.

Among the expected measures: a tax creditas requested by the truck associations. 100 million euros have already been allocated for the measure, today they will be supplemented by a further 200 million euros. This allows you to recover the missed reimbursement of 20 cents on commercial diesel. The deadlines for the formation of silent consent regarding tax credits for hauliers will be reduced: starting from 1 October 2026, the new deadline is 30 days, instead of 60, provided that the request is forwarded electronically.

Government measures

The Government has also undertaken to evaluate a limited suspension, from June to July, of payments relating to some taxes and contributions, in order to temporarily lighten the tax and contribution burden on road transport companies in a phase of particular liquidity difficulty in the sector. The Decree should be published this evening in the Gazzetta after the CDM to make it immediately executable.

The suspension of the strike

Unatras, in expressing “satisfaction” to reach the agreement, “confirms the need to monitor the concrete implementation of the measures and, at the same time, to continue the process of constant dialogue with the institutions”.

The position of the federations

Finally, the employers’ acronym specifies that the “decision taken by the member federations will be shared and formalized by the executive bodies in the next few days, represents a gesture of responsibility towards the country and the national economic system, in the awareness of the need to guarantee continuity of transport and logistics services”.
