Iranian TV published details of the preliminary memorandum with the United States

Iran’s state television reports that it has at its disposal the preliminary unofficial framework draft of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States on ending the war.

According to this project, the US armed forces will withdraw from the vicinity of Iran and remove the blockade created around Iranian ports.

In turn, Iran undertakes to restore the number of commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz within a month and bring it to the pre-war level. In addition, the management and routing of ships through Hormuz will be regulated by Iran in cooperation with Oman.

If the parties reach a final agreement within 60 days, the agreement will be ratified in the form of a binding UN Security Council resolution. It is also noted that the scope of the Islamabad memorandum has not been finalized yet. Iran will not take any action without checking it thoroughly.

Iranian and American officials have not yet confirmed the report by Iranian state television. Furthermore, the IRGC has stated that the passage of ships from “hostile countries” through the Strait of Hormuz is still prohibited.
