State of Play reveals, announces a new installment of God of War and the action game Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen

PlayStation has announced a new installment of the ‘God of War’ saga starring Faye and has shared a first look at the gameplay of ‘Marvel: Wolverine’, along with the trailer for the action game ‘Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen’.

The company held a new ‘State of Play’ event this Tuesday night, in which it shared announcements and previews of the titles that will arrive on its video game consoles in the coming months, as well as the new games in development.

This event has been the setting for the presentation of ‘God of War Laufey’, the new installment of the franchise, with Faye, wife of Kratos and mother of Atreus, as the protagonist. The adventure begins after his death, when he must make his way through a hostile afterlife to protect his loved ones.

The title is currently in development for PS5 and will maintain the gaming experience of its predecessors: “intimate and brutal combat, the exploration of a rich and visually spectacular world, and a deep narrative at the core of the experience”, as stated by PlayStation.

Insomniac Games shared new details about ‘Marvel: Wolverine’, the title it develops in collaboration with Marvel Games. This single-player adventure stars Wolverine, who is tracking a group of mutants who have been kidnapped by the Reapers’ cyber mercenary militia.

He will have the help of other mutants like Jean Grey. Both will use their unique abilities to take on the mercenaries, and each attack, block, and successful kill increases Wolverine’s Rage, until a “monochrome explosion of savagery” is unleashed.

‘Marvel: Wolverine’ (79.99 euros) will arrive on September 15 on PlayStation 5 and will include accessibility controls so that players with cognitive, visual, hearing and motor disabilities can also enjoy it.

The Rayman franchise will return to Playstation 5 on October 1 with ‘Rayman Legends Retold’, a ‘remake’ of the title released in 2013 that introduces 3D graphics, new content and narrative twists, as well as an expanded soundtrack composed by Christophe Héral and Grant Kirkhope.

Those responsible for the game have confirmed that the cinematic scenes will have voices and, for the first time, the characters will be fully dubbed.

In State of Play, more details of ‘MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls’ have also been shared, on this occasion, the Death Knights team: Doctor Death, Magneto, the Green Goblin and Matanza; as well as a new setting, the nighttime version of Marvel’s New York.

Those responsible for ‘Dave the Diver’ have announced the development of an independent project starring Che Bancho. It will be for PlayStation 5 and will tell the story of this character on his travels, one of the most loved by players of the franchise.

‘Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen’ is a new supernatural action game, based on the capture of yokai, which can be played in single-player mode or cooperatively for up to three players.

For ‘Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis’, the release date has been announced: February 12, 2027. ‘The Lost Wild’, a horror and survival game that takes place on an island with dinosaurs, will also arrive next year.

‘Phantom Blade Zero’, which was supposed to arrive on September 9, has delayed its launch until October 29, and ‘Dune: Awakening’ has confirmed its arrival on PlayStation and Xbox game consoles on September 22.

‘Dinasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered’ will also be available on October 1, and another title that has confirmed release in October for Playstation 5 is ‘No rest for the wicked’. Before that, on September 24, ‘Silent Hill Townfall’ will arrive and on September 25, ‘Onimusha: Way of the Sword’.

The new installment of the Ace Combat first-person shooter franchise, ‘Ace Combate 8: Wings of Theve’ places the player in the year 2029, when the Central Usea Federation has fallen to the attacks of the Republic of Sotoa.

‘Stuntman: Hollywood’ has also been announced, where you can perform different stunts, skids and jumps in the middle of explosions and chases in film recordings as an action stuntman.

The first-person survival horror title ‘ILL’ will arrive in 2027, with a story that takes place in a base taken over by terrifying creatures. ‘Control Resonant’ will be available on September 24.
