The US prevents the passage of 125 ships in the Strait of Hormuz since the beginning of the blockade of Iranian ports

The Central Command of the United States Army (CENTCOM) reported this Wednesday that 125 merchant ships have been prevented from passing through the Strait of Hormuz in what is already more than six weeks of a perimeter closure of the area announced by the US president, Donald Trump, in full contacts to end the conflict.

“As of June 3, CENTCOM forces have diverted 125 merchant ships and have immobilized six to guarantee compliance with the blockade,” he indicated in a message broadcast through social networks.

The tension in the Hormuz Pass remains latent despite the indefinite truce in force. Despite the fact that the US Government confirmed last Thursday an agreement in principle with Iran to extend the truce for two more months and guarantee passage through the area, Washington continues to impose sanctions against ships and entities for their links to the Iranian oil trade in an attempt to maintain pressure on Tehran.
