Leclerc: “I couldn’t be happier”

“I couldn’t be happier to continue the journey with Scuderia Ferrari HP which for me is much more than a team – the words of Leclerc -. It is the team that I have always loved and dreamed of being part of since I was a child and which, after all these years, has become a second family for me. Together we have shared incredible moments and other more difficult ones, but I believe more than ever in the Scuderia and I am deeply grateful to be able to continue fighting for our common goal which is to bring the world title back to Maranello.”

“Being a Ferrari driver It’s a dream, but also a responsibility that can never be taken for granted: I will continue to give my all to bring the Scuderia back to where it deserves, that is to say at the top, for all those who work at Maranello and above all for the fans, who with their passion are its beating heart.”

“Charles is part of the Ferrari family”

“Charles has been part of the Ferrari family for many years now and this renewal is something very natural for us,” explained the Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur. “In these seasons we have seen not only one of the strongest riders in the team grow Formula 1but also a person who deeply experiences the bond with this team and everything that Ferrari represents – he added -. We appreciate his talent, we love his determination and the way he faces every day together with the people in the team, on and off the track. We know how much this project means to him and we are happy to continue working together to achieve the goals we share”, Vasseur’s words.

The link between Ferrari and Leclerc

The link between Leclerc e Ferrari was born long before his debut in Formula 1. Joined the Driver Academy of Maranello in 2016, the Monegasque driver has built his entire competitive career together with the Scuderia: from the Formula 2 title won in 2017 to his debut in Formula 1 the following year, up to his arrival in Scuderia Ferrari in 2019.

Since then Charles has become a central presence for the team. At just 28 years old he is already the second driver Ferrari by number of races played in Formula 1 and for pole position, behind only Michael Schumacher.
