The Government grants 400,000 euros to the Spanish Network of Theaters for a circuit of performing arts and democratic memory

The Government has approved a subsidy 400,000 euros to the Spanish Network of Publicly Owned Theatres, Auditoriums, Circuits and Festivals for the creation of the Circuit of Performing Arts and Democratic Memory, as published by the Official State Gazette (BOE) this Friday.

The aid, which will be financed from the expense budget of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory for the year 2026, It is granted “directly and on an exceptional basis.”

The objective is to increase “the presence and visibility of democratic memory” in the programming of large Spanish performing spaces and “bring to the citizens quality shows that encourage reflection on the recent past.

Specifically, this Circuit of Performing Arts and Democratic Memory will promote the circulation of shows linked to this theme through public spaces, mainly municipal, taking as reference the ‘Dance on Stage’ and ‘Circo on Stage’ programs managed by the Spanish Network itself.

So, the beneficiary entity, which brings together around 200 institutions and indirectly provides services to more than 1,000 cultural spaceswill be in charge of managing and coordinating the project.

These subsidies will cover the design and planning of the circuit, the development and dissemination of a catalog of performing arts, the configuration of the programming with the projects of the associated spaces and the development, coordination, evaluation and closure of the activities.

In addition, expenses include personnel items, caches of selected works, mobility, subsistence allowances and travel, rental or acquisition of material, advertising and other costs directly related to the execution, as well as ordinary operating expenses up to a maximum of 10% of the cost of the activity.

In fact, the amount of 400,000 euros has been calculated, explains the Government, based on the planned expenses and the co-financing of 50% of the caches of approximately 150 shows.
