HoSE liquidity today reached just over 10,100 billion VND, the lowest level since April 2025, about the past 14 months.
Stocks experienced a gloomy trading session. In the morning, money flow into the market was slow, recording just over 4,000 billion VND before lunch break, about 27% lower than yesterday. In the afternoon, the liquidity chart only inched up little by little, instead of improving clearly as usual.
At the end of the session, the total trading value on HoSE reached more than 10,100 billion VND, down nearly 49% compared to yesterday. This level is the lowest since April 10, 2025 – the time when the market was strongly affected by US President Donald Trump’s reciprocal tax information. More than half of the liquidity is concentrated in the VN30 basket, while small and medium-sized stocks have sparse transactions.

Weak liquidity was recorded while stocks were dyed red throughout the session. After only a few minutes of opening, the HoSE representative index broke the 1,800 point mark. In the morning, the market sometimes fell below 1,790 points.
The important psychological milestone was regained in the early afternoon session but thin demand made it difficult for the general index to hold. VN-Index closed at 1,798.6 points, down more than 5 points compared to yesterday.
On the entire HoSE floor, there were 178 stocks that decreased in price, more than 118 stocks that increased. The lowest performance is in the retail, construction and materials, resources, and technology industries… However, if going by each stock, VHM of Vinhomes is the code with the most negative impact, contributing more than 2 points to the decrease of the VN-Index. This code decreased by 1.6% to 144,500 VND per unit, with a liquidity of nearly 248 billion VND.
On the contrary, chemicals and insurance are two groups that maintain a relatively good increase compared to the general market level. The most prominent is GVR of Vietnam Rubber Industry Group. This code today increased 4.3% to 35,400 VND.
Stocks today continued to be under pressure when foreign investors net sold about 505 billion VND, for the 4th consecutive session. However, the market did not record any shares being net sold over a hundred billion. Foreign investors are selling goods in real estate and banking groups, notably with codes NVL, VHM, VIC, TCB, VPB, HDB but the selling force is not as high as in previous sessions.
According to VPBank Securities (VPX), in the previous two sessions, VN-Index recovered but the market was still in a cautious state when liquidity remained at a low level. The demand that appears is mainly of an exploratory nature, not showing the strong participation of large cash flows. Technical indicators also show that the recovery momentum is not really strong.
Beta Securities (BSI) believes that investors should still consider maintaining a balanced stock proportion, only considering increasing it when market cash flow improves with a positive trend. However, groups with medium and long-term goals can consider accumulating codes with a solid foundation and clear growth prospects in the second half of the year.
