Gaza authorities raise the death toll to more than 73,000 since the start of Israel’s offensive

The authorities of the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), have this Monday raised the number of Palestinian deaths to more than 73,000 since the beginning of the offensive unleashed by Israel against the enclave after the attacks of October 7, 2023, including more than 990 since the ceasefire agreed in October 2025.

The Gaza Ministry of Health has indicated in a statement that there have been 73,003 “martyrs” and 173,252 wounded “since the beginning of the aggression”, although it has warned that “there are still victims under the rubble and lying in the streets, since the ambulances and Civil Protection teams have not yet been able to reach them.”

Likewise, he highlighted that since the beginning of the ceasefire, 992 deaths and 3,144 injuries have been documented, including six deaths and six injuries during the last 24 hours, while raising to 784 the number of bodies recovered from areas from which Israeli troops withdrew as a result of the aforementioned agreement.

Hamas has on numerous occasions accused Israel of failing to comply with the clauses of the agreement reached in October to implement the proposal of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, for the future of the enclave, going so far as to warn two weeks ago that Israel “will pay a high price” for its attacks against the Gaza Strip.
