Vietnam exports instant eggs to Japan for the first time

The export shipment to Japan on the morning of June 18 included a 20-foot container. The business plans to maintain a rhythm of 2-3 containers per month in the first phase, depending on market demand and production capacity.

According to Mr. Truong Chi Thien, General Director of Vinh Thanh Dat (VFood), the business spent nearly two years working with Japanese partners to perfect the product, from formula to quality control process and export documents. The product is also adjusted to suit Japanese consumer tastes, with the support of Japanese experts.

The export to Japan takes place in the context that the domestic poultry egg market is under pressure from oversupply. Supply has increased while consumption has not kept up, causing the price of eggs and some related products to drop sharply recently, causing difficulties for farmers and businesses.

In that context, opening export markets is considered a significant effort by businesses to find more stable output for egg-processed products, while reducing pressure on domestic consumption.

The business said that in the coming time, it will continue to expand deeply processed products from eggs if market conditions are favorable, thereby diversifying output and increasing added value for Vietnam’s poultry egg industry.

Vinh Thanh Dat Food Joint Stock Company is the leading enterprise in the industry, accounting for about 20% of the poultry egg market share in Ho Chi Minh City. VFood has a large purchasing network with farms in the East and West, supplying a series of domestic supermarkets.
