Víctor Muñoz’s World Cup will have to wait due to another muscle problem

The brand new Liverpool winger Víctor Muñoz suffered a new “muscle ailment” in the 2026 World Cup camp that will prevent him from playing for the moment in the event hosted this summer by the United States, Mexico and Canada, depending on his “evolution.”

“During the scheduled and individualized recovery process, an additional muscle ailment has occurred that will delay his incorporation into the competition. His availability for the next matches will depend on the evolution of his symptoms,” announced the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) in a medical report.

The Catalan footballer completed the season with CA Osasuna with muscle problems but had already recovered under the orders of Luis de la Fuente. However, Muñoz, who officially signed for Liverpool this Thursday, suffered another muscle injury that currently rules him out for Spain’s second game in the World Cup, this Sunday against Saudi Arabia.

Muñoz, who with an explosive season and his great display earned entry into the World Cup list after making his debut with the senior team in March, arrived in the recovery phase like Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, but the FC Barcelona and Athletic Club players did make progress in their improvement and managed to have minutes in last Monday’s debut against Cape Verde.
