Pablo Chiapella stars in Olivia, a series that focuses on “listening” to reduce the generation gap

The next July 1 Disney+ premiere ‘Olivia’series starring Pablo Chiapella. In the fiction created by David Troncoso and Flipy, the actor plays Mario Rey, a well-known weather presenter who, after making a huge mistake at work, is forced to hide with his daughter Olivia to escape the media commotion. An escape that will take him back to his homeland, where he will try to rebuild both his relationship with his father, Tomás, whom he hasn’t seen for years, like with his own daughter.

“This series is a bit about that, about trying to, Despite the differences that have been generated in different generations, reach a common point. And in this case it is the importance of family and respecting those in front of you and, above all, listening“, says Chiapella in an interview with Europa Press. The actor from ‘La que se cerca’ explains that, from his position as a father, he tries to “fight every day” against that generation gap to “try to make it shorter and shorter” although, he points out, it is inevitable that it exists.

“Generational struggles have always existed. I went through them with my father and I imagine I will be going through them with my children,” says Nancho Novo (‘The Red Squirrel’, ‘Dreams of Freedom’), who in fiction plays Tomás, Mario’s father and Olivia’s grandfather. “I think it’s logical. There’s that Freudian thing about killing one’s father.”“says the actor, emphasizing that “it is a moment we all go through.”

“Those generational gaps or Those conflicts that exist between generations are resolved the moment they sit down at the table and listen to each other,” points out Lamine Thior. The interpreter, who has worked in series such as ‘The Law of the Sea’ or ‘Serve and Protect’, plays Iván, a character who tries to build bridges between Oliva and his grandfather.

We always need to listen to each other more“says Lalachus, who in fiction plays Sol, the talkative owner of the town bar. The comedian and collaborator in ‘The Revolt’ claims the importance of listening to young people who, she assures, “always have something to say.”

“SUCCESS IS RELATIVE, IT IS NOT JUST WORK”

Chiapella explains how the protagonist of ‘Olivia’ reconnects “with her past and her origins” when he is fired from work and leaves the city behind to return to his town. Novo points out that his character, Tomás, “grows by realizing the human beings he has next to him.” “And I believe that the message is that: let’s look at who we have next to us, let’s not let them pass us by because we believe that there are more important things“he points out.

We live at 1,500 revolutions and you never stop to think exactly what you want“says Thior. “You are clear about what society expects of you, what is synonymous with success, but I think it has happened to many of us that, when you get what you think you want, there comes a time when you feel super empty,” he explains. “Well, success is relative. “Success is not just about work”points out Kira Miró (‘Alpha Males, ‘The Unknown’), who plays Nuria in the series.

Composed of six episodes, the cast of ‘Olivia’ is completed by names such as María Schwinning, Fernando Tejero, Enrique Villén, María Barranco, Camila Rojas, Agustín Jiménez, JJ Vaquero and Diego Arjona.
