Stojković’s sentence is reduced: it will not be only against Thun

Good news has arrived for Dinamo Zagreb from UEFA. The umbrella house of European football reduced the penalty To Luka Stojkova with a three to two game suspension.

Stojković was suspended after receiving a red card in the second leg of the Europa League round of 16 play-off at Genk. After extra time it was 3-3, the Blues were eliminated from Europe, and Dinamo’s midfielder excelled with two goals. At the end of the first overtime, he did something stupid and slapped Genk stopper Matteo Smets. The German referee Felix Zwayer first gave him a second card, but then the VAR room intervened and called him for a check. After that, he changed his decision and showed him a red card.

Standsć was first punished by not playing three games, and then the club from Maksimir sued and his punishment was reduced. He will not be in the match against the Swiss champion Thun in the second qualifying round of the Champions League. The first match will be played on July 21 or 22 in Switzerland, and the second leg a week later in Maksimir.
