‘Mecano Symphonic’ arrives at the Calderón Theater in Madrid for the generation that has been “orphaned” by the band

The show ‘Mecano Symphonic’ the next one will arrive July 9 at the Calderón Theater in Madrid with a proposal for the generation that was left “orphaned”“after the separation of the band of Ana Torroja and the brothers Nacho Cano and José María Cano.

“Mecano left a great legacy of music. They broke up in 1998 and since that date people have felt very orphaned from the group.they have left so much music… Many tributes have been made and this show is based on a very simple idea: to feel again what people felt when they went to the Mecano concerts,” explained this Friday the creator and director of the concert, Sasha Alexander Pantchenko, together with Tempo Rubato.

Thus, until July 26, ‘Mecano Symphonic’ – which is a “concert”, not a “musical” – will go through all the stages of the group through 35 songs and two hours of ‘show’.

The staging is designed in three parts and in each one, the three singers Alicia Sanro, Lucía de Pablo and Mónica Solaun will wear designs that are reminiscent of both Mecano’s aesthetics and the songs themselves.

“From the beginning we have wanted to make the project known and the members of Mecano – Ana, Nacho and José – all three know about the project and are obviously invited to come see it. In the end this is a concert, which is within what is live music, it is not a musical because our intention was not to turn this into anything other than music.“added Alexander Pantchenko.

The proposal fuses a symphony orchestra of 19 musicians – made up of Venezuelan immigrants -, ‘sinth-pop’, a live band, the voices of three singers and an ‘audiovisual performance’ by two dancers.

After his time on the Madrid stage, the concert director has assured that his intention is to start the tour “strongly” in January, later adding that it is a format “exportable to other countries.” “We would like to reach all the places where Mecano’s music reached“, he has settled.
