Bach Festival in Leipzig: Woman accuses a conductor of abusive behavior

The incident is very annoying and the employee is being supported, said the director of the Bach Festival, Michael Maul, to the German Press Agency. “But I see this as rude behavior on the part of the conductor. He probably didn’t realize at that moment that the employee came up to him to thank him.”

The woman wanted to give the conductor a scroll as a thank you immediately after the concert. The conductor took the roll and wanted to put it on the woman’s necklace or in the neckline of her T-shirt. The police have received a criminal complaint from the employee, as a spokeswoman said upon request.

There was a conversation in which the conductor admitted his misconduct and apologized, Maul explained. However, the musician rejected the accusation of sexual assault.
