Stocks today July 2: Liquidity remains low

Closing trading on July 2, Ho Chi Minh City market liquidity reached more than 17,200 billion VND, down slightly compared to the previous session. Trading was somewhat active in the first half of the morning. After 10:30, cash flow into stocks was slower than the same period yesterday when the market had many shaking points.

Thus, this is the 7th consecutive session that liquidity on HoSE is below the billion USD threshold. This shows that investors still maintain a cautious mentality. However, in the context that the adjustment pressure has not eased, low liquidity also shows that there is not much selling pressure on the market.

Trading value remained low during the stock session, fluctuating quite strongly around 1,860-1,870 points. The VN-Index graph changed green – red many times before closing above 1,866 points, a slight adjustment of 0.9 points compared to yesterday. However, the stock reversed after the previous two sessions of accumulating points.

On HoSE, there were 162 stocks that decreased in price, more than 117 stocks that increased. The difference is not high, showing that the market is trading at a fairly balanced level, cash flow still finds codes with their own growth stories.

Real estate is the foundation for stocks as it is the group with the strongest increase in industry index. In particular, the VIC duo of Vingroup and VHM (Vinhomes) supported the market by nearly 7 points. Vingroup shares also increased by 1.5% to 220,300 VND per unit, with liquidity reaching more than 557 billion VND, ranking second in the entire market. Vinhomes shares accumulated an additional 1.1% to 150,400 VND with a liquidity of nearly 334 billion VND.

The banking group has worse performance. In the group of 10 codes with the worst impact on VN-Index, there are 6 representatives from this industry. Leading is VCB, followed by BID, TCB, LPB, CTG and STB.

The market today is also under pressure from the reversal of foreign investors when they net sold about 440 billion VND. The selling force focused on TCB, HPG, MSN, ACB and GMD, but did not only receive stocks with a net sale of over a hundred billion. On the contrary, VIC is the code that attracts the most money from foreign investors with a net purchase of more than 298 billion VND.

Previously, Saigon – Hanoi Securities Company (SHS) commented that the market was accumulating under pressure from large capitalization groups. At this time, investors should wait for second quarter business results to restructure their portfolio. This analyst group believes that market quality is still improving, investors are looking for opportunities in good quality businesses, priced lower than the general market.

However, SHS still recommends that investors maintain a reasonable proportion. Disbursement goals should be aimed at codes with good fundamentals, leading in strategic industries, with outstanding growth of the economy.
