Athletics: Lamont Marcell Jacobs broke the all-time triple time in the 100 meters

Jacobs stopped the clocks at 9.67 with the Eisenstadt wind blowing behind at 4.1 meters per second.

The Italian’s run was not statistically valid, but if the wind results are included, he is the best of all time second fastest man. Only Usain Bolt’s the historically hard times of 9.63 and 9.58 go ahead.

Jacobs himself was happy with his wild time.

“I’m really happy because I’m improving every race. Of course it was windy here, but only Bolt has run faster than this. I’m very happy that I was able to do it at a time like this,” he beamed at the European Athletics Federation in the bulletin.”

Jacobs’ own record is 9.80 run in the Olympic final in Tokyo 2021. This season, his best statistically valid time is 9.96, which ranks him 27th in the world statistics.
