Plenković opened a hall and a children’s center in eastern Croatia

In his speech, Tarr asserted that the construction of a sports hall in Korođ shows the desire for the life of a community, which in Korođ with only about 500 inhabitants, is obviously extremely large and alive.

The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister David Vlajčić and Ivan Anušić, Minister Nina Obuljen Koržinek and Ministers Radovan Fuchs and Gordan Grlić Radman, as well as Vukovar-Srijemsk župan Ivan Bosančić.

Elementary school Korođ it was the only one, out of a total of four elementary schools in Croatia, in which classes are conducted according to the Croatian curriculum in the Hungarian language, according to model A, and which until now did not have a hall for holding physical education classes.

The cost of building the hall was fully financed by the Government of the Republic of Croatia, based on the bilateral agreement on the mutual protection of the Hungarian minority in Croatia and the Croatian minority in Hungary, and based on the Operational Program of the Government of the Republic of Croatia for the Hungarian National Minority 2024-2028.

Before the ceremonial opening, Prime Minister Plenković and the members of the Hungarian Government held a meeting with the parliamentary representative of the Hungarian national minority, Robert Jankovi, and the leaders of the associations of the Hungarian national minority in the Vukovar-Srijem County, who also attended the opening of the sports hall.

Prime Minister Plenković in Korođ arrived from Ernestinovo near Osijek, where he opened the Creative Children’s Center “Idem”.

The project with a total value of almost 4 million euros was implemented as part of the INNATUS project – Initiative for naive art and sustainable tourism, and was co-financed from the Interreg VI.A IPA Croatia-Serbia program.

In his speech, Prime Minister Plenković He congratulated the municipal authorities of Ernestinov on the realized project, the value of which, as he noted, is five times greater than the annual budget of that municipality.
