Weather thriller in Germany: Is the sweltering heat coming back?

Nightmarish scorching heat or just a normal summer with lots of sunshine? The weather experts’ forecasts are already making you sweat. Because another heat wave seems to be approaching. The only question at the moment is when it will come.

For now, there’s still time to at least take a breather. The German Weather Service (DWD) predicts bearable temperatures at least for the weekend – but in two parts: Because today in the southwest half of Germany it is supposed to be clear to sunny with highs between 25 and 30 degrees. According to the DWD, in the north and east it will be variable to very cloudy with temperatures between 19 and 24 degrees. The forecast for Sunday doesn’t look much different. The calm before the next heat bell?

When asked by BILD, climatologist Dr. Karsten Brandt on the year 2019: “If I compare the temperature trends from then to now, then there is a certain similarity. And in July 2019 there was a huge one Heat wave. My feeling tells me: There’s more to come this year.”
