Essen: Man dies on the verge of stabbing! Murder commission investigates

Essen (NRW) – Bloody clash on Sunday night in Essen! An argument escalated on the sidelines of a party for around 150 people in the city’s most popular nightlife district. Finally, a man attacked three opponents, a knife was drawn – and a bystander died.

According to BILD information, at around 2:20 a.m. police and rescue workers were called to a verbal argument between four men on Girardetstrasse in the Rüttenscheid district of Essen (North Rhine-Westphalia) called.

Bouncer suffered a heart attack

The officers met the four men on site at the Girardethaus. All are said to have had bleeding stab or cut injuries. Another man collapsed and had to be resuscitated by police until emergency services arrived on site, but died shortly afterwards. According to picture information, the fatality was an uninvolved bouncer. The 56-year-old German is said to have suffered a heart attack as a result of the events.

An argument escalated at a big celebration

Around 150 people previously celebrated a big celebration in a rented party room in the house. As BILD learned, an argument during the party spilled onto the street and escalated there. What the altercation was about was still unclear early Sunday morning. Those involved in the crime are said to be three Turks (42 – 48) and one German (42). A 46-year-old Turkish man, who was injured himself, was identified as the main suspect. He is said to have used the knife and was temporarily arrested. He is currently being treated in the hospital by the police guarded, the man is accused of attempted murder, according to Bild information.

An earlier version of the article stated that it was a mass brawl, but new findings do not confirm this initial assumption. The police want to provide further details later in the day. A murder squad has started an investigation.
