Bankruptcy of a well-known engineering company worth millions

The irony of fate could hardly be greater: a company that was supposed to warn others about risks has itself fallen into the bankruptcy trap. According to AKV, restructuring proceedings were opened on Monday at the Vienna Commercial Court about Risk Experts Risk Engineering GmbH, based in Vienna.

Founded in 2005, the company made a name for itself as an engineering office for mechanical engineering and management consulting. But then the crash came. “An unexpected and significant drop in orders,” the bankruptcy documents state. For years the main clients had come from a well-known company – until the orders suddenly stopped.

Salaries only partially paid

The 29 employees were the first to feel the crisis. The salaries were paid in full until April 2026, and then only partially in May. Now the workforce faces an uncertain future.

The debt is estimated at around 3.5 million euros.

The future

The management is combative: They want to continue operations and expect an “improved order volume” in the next few years. From this hoped-for income, the 20 percent quota should be paid to the creditors within two years. Insolvency administrator Beate Holper must now check whether this is realistic. It should also clarify whether the minimum quota can still be increased.
