Aregnaz Manukyan was detained for two months

Manukyan was arrested from his apartment this morning and taken to the investigative station. Hours after his arrest, the court began hearing a petition to detain him for two months.

Manukyan, who took part in the elections on the PAP list led by Gagik Tsarukyan, was charged by the Investigative Committee in the case of Andranik Tevanyan, who was detained at the end of May. The head of “Mother Armenia” Andranik Tevanyan, who was also number two on the PAP list, is charged with espionage and treason. Law enforcement officers charged Aregnaz Manukyan today with the article of publishing information containing state secrets.

According to lawyer Tirayr Karapetyan, Manukyan calls the accusation “absurd”.
