Kpler: Almost all ships in the Strait of Hormuz are following the route set by Iran

Only one ship passed the Strait of Hormuz on July 9 along a route near the coast of Oman, rather than further north, along a corridor established by Iranian authorities. This was reported by Kpler.

In total, according to Kpler, 22 ships crossed the strait during the day. Of these, 21 chose the route determined by Tehran.

Some crews can turn off transponders and continue moving without transmitting location data. Several ships have entered the Strait of Hormuz in recent days despite an exchange of blows between the United States and Iran, CNN reports.

The intensity of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz has sharply decreased: before the new round of confrontation, the passage of 40-50 ships per day was recorded. Before the war, which began on February 28, 2026, approximately 100 ships passed through this strait every day.
