Renaud Hardy: the monster sentenced to life imprisonment for murder and torture died in prison

The serial killer is dead Renaud Hardy. Sentenced to life imprisonment for several murders and assaults, Hardy died at the age of 64 in the Bruges prison infirmary, after a long illness. The news was confirmed Thursday by Kathleen Van De Vijver, spokeswoman for the prison administration.

The crimes and convictions of Renaud Hardy

Hardy had been found guilty of the rape, torture and murder of eighty-two-year-old Maria Walschaerts in Mechelen, as well as the murder of fifty-two-year-old Linda Doms in Hofstade. He had also been convicted of the attempted murder of the sixty-eight-year-old doctor AH in Hofstade and of the actress Veerle Eyckermans in Zemst.

Episodes of violence in prison

Even in prison, the convict stood out for episodes of violence: last year he was transferred to Beveren prison after having stabbed another inmate in the head with a ballpoint pen.
