Starlink has donated 56 more equipment to Armenia for stable Internet in emergency situations

As a result of negotiations between the Ministry of High-tech Industry and the American company Starlink, the Armenian government received 56 equipment donated by Starlink in order to prepare for possible future emergency situations.

These devices will provide an opportunity to provide reliable and high-speed Internet connection for effective response during disasters and other emergency situations, reported the Ministries of High-tech Industry and Interior Affairs, with the cooperation of which the initiative was implemented.

The equipment is already in Armenia, and it is planned to allocate it to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the needs of the Rescue Service. They will contribute to the strengthening of communication diversity opportunities in Armenia’s emergency situations, in particular, rescue operations, natural disasters, crisis situations, as well as in cases when traditional communication infrastructures are limited, overloaded or broken, the message states.

Within the framework of cooperation between Starlink and RA Ministry of Education and Training, 110 Starlink devices already provide Internet connection for thousands of students in schools in remote areas of Armenia.

SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet has been available in Armenia since the end of March last year.
