The state put up for sale at a discount “caravillas” for evacuees

The Tkuma Authority, which is responsible for the reconstruction of communities in southern Israel damaged by the October 7, 2023 massacre, is holding a tender for the sale of temporary houses purchased almost three years ago to house evacuees.

At the moment we are talking about approximately 570 “caravilles”, which the management offers to buy at half price.

Even before the tender, about 100 buildings had already been sold to settlements hosting evacuees. In Mishmar HaEmeke, 40 units were purchased to house the residents of Nahal Oz, Kibbutz Hatzerim purchased 30 buildings, and Kibbutz Revivim and Ruhama purchased dozens more.

Each participant can purchase buildings for a total value of up to NIS 6 million, with the purchase of at least seven units usually required.

The price of each building is set at 50% of the government’s original purchase price. House with an area of ​​60 sq. m is offered for 245–285 thousand shekels, a house with an area of ​​80 sq. m. m – for 257–430 thousand shekels, a house with an area of ​​90 square meters. m will be sold for 307–349 thousand shekels, and a house with an area of ​​120 sq. m. m – for 356–541 thousand shekels. The structures include a sheltered room (mamad), kitchen, plumbing, solar water heater and air conditioning.

In addition, the buyer also receives assistance from the Tkuma management for the purposes of landscaping, arranging the foundation and connecting to the infrastructure, and the state will even finance the transportation of buildings and their installation in a new location.
