Future trainer in the Bundeswehr: Three cruciate ligaments: snowboarder Höflich ends his career

After three cruciate ligament injuries, freestyle snowboarder Andre Höflich is ending his career. The halfpipe athlete from SC Kempten is now becoming a coach. As Snowboard Germany announced, the 28-year-old will be a physical performance coach for the Bundeswehr in Sonthofen.

The Allgäuer Höflich was repeatedly set back by serious injuries. With his entry into the Olympic final in Beijing 2022 and two World Cup podium places, he stood out among the German snowboarders.

“Andre is a great athlete whose career is unfortunately repeatedly marked by serious injuries. What is even more remarkable is the consistency with which he works his way back every time and never loses faith in himself. He deserves the greatest respect for that,” said sports director Andreas Scheid.
