The FA fines Chelsea more than 11 million euros

The English Football Association (FA) fined Chelsea FC £10 million (€11.69 million) and imposed a two-window transfer ban on Friday for breaching FA regulations concerning agents, intermediaries, and third-party investment in players.

The FA accused Chelsea of ​​74 rule violations after its current owners voluntarily reported irregularities in the club’s purchase from Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich to football authorities in 2022.

The club admitted these violations, and an independent regulatory commission imposed a six-point deduction, suspended until June 30, 2027, and a £10 million fine.

The club, which had already reached settlement agreements with the Premier League and UEFA on this matter, appealed the suspension of the points deduction. An independent Appeals Board upheld the appeal and overturned the sanction after a new hearing.

Instead, a two-window transfer ban was imposed, which is suspended until June 30, 2027. The financial penalty is not subject to appeal, and the money “will be reinvested in youth football,” according to the FA.
