Pitbullin Riian-keikka – suomalaiset tanssivat kadulla letkajenkkaa tekokaljuissa

Pitbull fan Milla Kälviäää wore it on Tuesday night.

He had traveled with a friend to Riga, the capital of Latvia, earlier in the day, as the American rapper was scheduled to perform on the outdoor stage of Mežaparks on Wednesday evening.

However, it turned out differently, as the gig had to be canceled due to technical problems related to stage safety. The Latvian broadcasting company LSM says that more than 40,000 spectators were expected for the concert.

Kälviäinen was informed about the cancellation of the gig by email. The organizer promised to return the entrance ticket money within two weeks.

The Finns who traveled to Riga quickly reversed their disappointment. to win. The messaging service Jodel started receiving updates on Wednesday inviting people to a joint street party in Riga’s old town.

“The disappointment was and still is, of course, huge, but we thought we could celebrate and have fun despite everything,” Kälviäinen said on Thursday.

Finns gathered at Bremen square in Riga’s old town to celebrate a shadow party. Kälviäinen guesses that there were hundreds of Finnish fans at Wednesday night’s street party.

“First we celebrated for maybe an hour to the rhythm of Pitbull’s music, then we switched to Finnish hits. Riga was playing Käärijän Cha Cha cha and others bangers, and at one point the group even pulled a hosepipe with fake bald heads”, Kälviäinen laughed.

According to Kälviäinen, the police had come to break up the street party later.

“The mood was good, and there were no disturbances. Maybe the disappointment brought people together.”

Finnish fans have posted on Tiktok and Instagram, among others rowdy videos showing revelers decked out in black jackets, white shirts and fake bald heads.

Kälviäinen has not planned to go to other Pitbull concerts. The Riga gig would have been the first of its kind for him, as several hundreds of euros were sunk into the trip.

“We looked at other cities on the tour out of curiosity, but at least I can’t afford to invest hundreds of euros in a new oneon tour,” he said.
