‘Luna Sofia and Berenice’s hair’, the debut of Fabio Ingrosso

From radio to children’s fiction. Fabio Ingrosso, speaker of Radio 105, debuts in fiction with “Luna Sofia and Berenice’s hair”, a novel that combines adventure, fantasy and a message dedicated to self-discovery and acceptance. The book will be available in bookstores starting today, August 28, published by Salani Editore (400 pages, 14.90 euros).

At the center of the story is Luna Sofia, an eleven-year-old girl with lilac hair, capable of spreading the scent of flowers in the air, and an out of the ordinary personality. His life suddenly changes after an argument between his parents, which throws the balance of the family into crisis. Following the incident, Luna Sofia is sent to Texas, to the town where her grandfather who she barely knows lives. In her grandfather’s old house, among memories and objects from the past, the little girl discovers the WondaWash hidden in the back of a wardrobe, apparently a toy washing machine but in reality a real spaceship. The discovery kicks off an extraordinary journey that will take Luna Sofia to the heart of Coma di Berenice, the constellation whose stars resemble strands of hair scattered across the sky. The constellation holds a particular power: it can grant a single, very important wish. During her adventure, Luna Sofia will encounter distant worlds, talking backpacks and new friends, while she will be called to confront what makes her different. The journey into space thus also becomes an internal journey. The protagonist will in fact discover that her characteristics, initially perceived as defects, instead represent a fundamental part of her identity and the link with a story that spans generations, a courageous grandmother and a legendary comet. The novel therefore addresses, through the tools of fantasy, themes such as self-esteem, courage and the importance of believing in one’s own peculiarities. A story designed for young readers, but built around a universal message: true light does not come from the stars, but is born within each of us.

Fabio Ingrosso, born in Milan in 1977 and raised in Dallas, Texas, developed his professional path between music, radio and television. He was a judge for three editions of “All Together Now” and Vocal & Stage Coach of “Star in the Star”, programs broadcast by Canale 5. After his experience at MTV Italia, he became the official voice of Radio 105. During his career he has also worked as a speaker in Italian and English, lending his voice to advertising campaigns, jingles and cartoon theme tunes. “Luna Sofia and Berenice’s hair” represents his first book for children and inaugurates a new stage in his artistic journey, this time entrusted to the pages of a novel.
