Max Seeck’s Hollywood series continues – directed by CSI creator Danny Cannon

The English-language series is based on the one that came out in 2019 Faithful reader –to the novel that began Jessica Niemi – book series. The work rose, among other things The New York Timesin to the bestseller list.

A British man has been appointed as the director and executive producer of the series Danny Cannon. He is known for, among other things CSI-, Gotham– and Pennyworthas the author of the series.

An international film industry publication was the first to report on the project Screen Daily.

Jessica Niemi series has been developed in Los Angeles for seven years. US production company Stampede Ventures acquired the television rights to Seeck’s book series in 2019.

“We have done a lot of work on the project together with American producers, screenwriters and the director,” says the founder of Ahlbäck Agency, which represents Seeck. Elina Ahlbäck.

According to Ahlbäck, the development processes of Hollywood productions are typically long and proceed in many stages. Therefore, an accurate assessment of the series’ production schedule cannot yet be given.

“At the moment, however, we can say that hiring a director is a significant step forward, and the project is progressing at breakneck speed.”

According to Ahlbäck, in productions of a similar size, it can take about two to four years from this stage until the series ends up being seen by viewers. However, the schedule can also be shorter or longer.

Ahlbäck says that MTV, as a domestic television channel, is already committed to the project.
